CROSS COUNTRY RACE

Introduction:

On November 4, 2023, a thrilling cross country race took place, organized by *Viveka Foundations Sr. Sec. School as an Interhouse competition, which started at the beautiful Himalayan adventure off-road Cafe. The event was marked by enthusiasm sportsmanship, and a sense of community among the students and staff of school .


Race Details:

The event began with students departing from their school in school buses, heading towards the starting point of the race at the Himalayan adventure off-road Cafe. The race, covering a total distance of 2.5 kilometers, was divided into several stages, each marked by unique moments and support for the participants.


1. Flag Hoisting:

The race commenced with the solemn flag hoisting ceremony performed by "The Founder & Director, Madam Kusum Rana", and "The School Principal Madam Mousami Thapa". This marked the official beginning of the race and set a spirit of unity among the participants.


2. Race Start:

With a burst of energy, the students embarked on their 2.5 km journey, following a well-defined route marked with flags. The atmosphere was filled with cheers and encouragement from both fellow students and teachers lining the route. At every few hundred meters, students and teachers were stationed to provide water and any other support required by the runners.


3. Turning Point:

At the midway point, Cafe Hideout, the students collected tokens from their respective teachers, signifying their position in the race. This provided a moment of strategy and motivation for the participants to plan the race ahead.


4. Finishing Line:

The race culminated at the Himalayan adventure off-road Cafe, where participants gave their all to reach the finish line, amid cheers and applause from their peers. This final stretch was a true testament to the determination of the young athletes.


Interhouse Competition:

The cross country race was not just about individual performance; it was also an Interhouse competition. Four houses, namely *Aryabhatt, Chaitanya, Major Somnath Sharma, and Rabindranath Tagore* , each comprising 7 boys and 7 girls, sent a total of 14 participants from each house. In a show of support, two teachers from each house also participated in the race, motivating the students from their respective houses.


Results:

After an energetic run through the scenic tea gardens, the final results were as follows:

- Chaitanya House secured the first position with a total of 84 points.

- Aryabhatt House claimed the second position with 86 points.

- Major Somnath Sharma House finished in third place with a total of 93 points.

- Rabindranath Tagore House secured the fourth position with 143 points.


Conclusion:

The cross country race on November 4, 2023, was an exhilarating and memorable event that showcased the dedication, stamina, and competitive spirit of the students. It was a testament to the sense of unity, and healthy competition within the school community. The event was a grand success, leaving a lasting impression on all participants and spectators, and undoubtedly will be remembered as a highlight in the school's legacy.
