Viveka Foundations Students Visit Palampur Fire Station for an Educational Tour

31 August 2026: Viveka Foundations Senior Secondary School, Mansimbal, organised an educational visit to the Fire Station, Palampur,for the students of Classes III and IV.The visit aimed to provide practical exposure and create awareness about fire safety, emergency preparedness, and responsible action during emergencies.

The students were warmly welcomed and guided by Station Fire Officer (SFO) Mr. Surinder Kumar,along with Leading Firemen Mr. Umesh Kumar and Mr. Pratap Singh, Driver Mr. Ajay Kumar, and Fireman Mr. Ashok Kumar.

During the visit, the students learned about the causes of fire, safety precautions related to electrical appliances and LPG, and the role of the Fire Department in protecting lives and property.The officials demonstrated various firefighting and safety equipment, including fire extinguishers, hose pipes, protective suits, masks, and fire tenders.Students were also shown how the fire brigade responds promptly to an emergency call.

The children were educated about calling the Fire Emergency Number 101 and were introduced to the important ”Stop, Drop and Roll” technique to be followed if clothes catch fire.

The students participated enthusiastically, interacted with the firefighters, and asked several interesting questions. The visit proved to be an engaging and highly informative learning experience,equipping the young learners with valuable fire-safety awareness and essential life-saving skills.
