*Report on Disaster Awareness Day*
(Marking the 121st Anniversary of the 1905 Kangra Earthquake)
The school observed *Disaster Awareness Day* to mark the 121st anniversary of the 1905 Kangra Earthquake with the aim of spreading awareness among students about safety and preparedness during disasters.
The programme began with a short speech where students were sensitised about the importance of being aware and prepared in times of natural calamities. This was followed by a PowerPoint presentation that helped students understand different types of disasters and simple safety measures they can follow.
To make the learning more practical, a “Shake Out Drill”was conducted in the school. Students and staff actively participated and practiced the safety steps of “Drop, Cover, and Hold.” The drill helped them understand how to respond calmly and quickly during an earthquake.
Overall, the activities were meaningful and engaging, helping students become more aware, confident, and prepared to handle emergency situations.
