Viveka Foundations Sr. Sec. School, Palampur had the privilege of hosting an extraordinary motivational session on 11th July 2025 by a man who quite literally scales mountains — Mr. Nadeesh Parmar, a Ph.D. scholar in the Department of Psychology at the University of Delhi, renowned for his research on mental toughness and psychological skills training for high-altitude mountaineers.

From the very beginning, the session broke the mold of conventional lectures. Mr. Nadeesh started by sparking curiosity — asking thought-provoking questions about human behavior, prompting eager hands to rise across the hall. Students enthusiastically engaged as he delved into the science of the mind, explaining the meaning of mental health, the significance of psychological well-being, and the indispensable role of psychologists in today’s world.

What followed was an enlightening journey through the branches of psychology—from clinical and sports psychology to military, forensic, social, and child psychology—each woven into real-world relevance. Mr. Parmar’s ability to merge scientific insight with personal narrative was striking. He shared his gripping experiences in the Himalayas and Sikkim, as a field researcher, studying how the human mind endures extreme pain, stress, and isolation.

His message was simple, yet profound:
“Success or failure can never completely determine your worth as a human being.”

Students were captivated as he shared the core of his doctoral thesis, and went on to demystify psychological assessments, the CBT approach, and the critical role of community psychologists in promoting mental wellness at the grassroots level. He emphasized the need to understand the lived realities of people before offering help—teaching students a lesson in empathy and contextual intelligence.

As the session drew to a close, an open forum allowed students to ask questions, clearing their doubts and engaging in rich, insightful~ discussions on human behavior, coping mechanisms, and the psychology of performance.

The Principal, Mrs. Manisha Aggarwal, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Nadeesh Parmar for his inspiring talk, while Founder Principal & Director, Madam Kusum Rana, offered a warm vote of thanks, appreciating his humble presence and meaningful insights.

It was more than just a session—it was an awakening. An invitation to dive deep into the unseen layers of the mind, to embrace resilience, and to climb not just mountains, but the peaks within.
